A Week Of Cruz

I recently learned how to use PicMonkey to better share the many pics I love to throw in here of the kiddo. I hated always having to post one after another...well now, now I can post a ton, but not make each post crazy long. Thanks A for the recommendation!

We had such a fun week last week, so I thought I was share it with you all....

This kid loves to eat
Ok, so it's no shocker that we don't eat meals at the dinner table like a normal family...Nick and I are usually on our respective couches trying to shove some food into our mouths after we get little man fed, bathed and ready for bed. The other night we picked up some Julio's Mexican after work and of course were hounded not only by our hound, but also our hungry kiddo.  Below is him trying to take food off my plate, evidently trying to eat my plate - and then when I told him he needed to move back and I would give him a bite - he moved REALLY far back.  He is just so stinkin' funny these days.

Spending our day running errands
Last Sunday, we had a full day of running errands. Luckily for me, he's a great shopper...well, lucky for him or he would be miserable...a lot. We piled our cart full at Sam's Club, wandered crafts at Michaels, had wood cut at Home Depot and then passed out from all the fun in Target...we even ate lunch in the Target food court. Now that's dedication.

Hanging with nanny
Another week in the books with our fave lady, J.  They hit up Fat Brain Toy's toddler day on Tuesday (look at all the fun he had!), went to the mall play area and were back at Metro Gym for their play time...little man loves him the foam pit! Check out the message I got from J - it may have just made my day and made me a very proud mama. =)

Other shenanigans
We baby - and parent - proofed the toilet. I was tired of little hands and all my stuff floating around in there...but it is a real pain in the middle of the night when I'm half awake and can't just one-hand it. He's also a major cheeser..put a camera in his face and you get a big "CHEEEEESE!" Here is my man of many faces...

Looking forward to yet another fun week of discoveries and "new stuff" developing from this little guy.

Nine Month Photo Shoot

We finally got pictures back from little man's 9 month photo shoot (umm like 3 months ago)...and I'm in LOVE! He is the absolute cutest guy EVER and I can't get over how well these turned out. A big THANK YOU to B. Gallery Photography for spending the morning with us and capturing some great moments. I went to college with Barbie and have watched her photography skills continue to evolve - she is a rock star!

I'm way into the urban look and figured it only made sense for our pics to be taken this way. Barbie found a great location in downtown Omaha - and I love the brick background look!

Photo Bomb: Trying to Crawl & Some Other Stuff

We've had some great progress over the past couple of weeks and Little Mango continues to develop so quickly! I had to catch him in action showing off some of his new moves and his favorite ways to play.

ATTEMPTS AT CRAWLING
I would not be surprised if little man is crawling by the end of this week...he is so close. Its just a matter of him figuring out how to make his hands and knees move in the direction they are supposed to, but he is a little weary of that just yet. I know people say you're going to wish they weren't crawling once your house is completely baby-proofed and you can't sit them in one place and expect them to stay there any longer, but I don't care! I just want to see this baby move! Plus, I'm tired of pushing his toys "just out of reach" in hopes he will crawl to them...that just seems so mean.

Hmm...I think I'm going to try it...

Just need to get this leg behind me
(you know he's really trying when that tongue is out!)

Alright...here goes nothing!

Umm...I don't think I'm going to try that just yet.

How about a snack instead, mom?

I love my TOYS!
Little man has been loving up on this toy...I do not remember who gave it to him, but a big THANK YOU goes out to them. It has sounds, lights, music and tons of action!

Picking up the weeble wobble

Sticking it in his mouth for a bit

And throwing it aside so he can get the other two!

SITTING UP
Cruz learned how to go from tummy to sitting up last month when my mom was here watching him while he was sick. I was SO impressed when I got home from work that night...and now there's no turning back! The best part is that he is able to sit up in his crib now and greets us every morning sitting up and smiling at us as soon as we enter his nursery. Not a shabby way to start the day!

Relaxing while mama takes some pictures

Strengthening those arms...ready to push off

Using his head to push himself up
(We've got the makings of some bad rug burn right here)
So proud of himself!

Photo Bomb...Poor Little Cruz

He doesn't stand a chance when I have a camera in hand, especially when I have been away from him since FRIDAY and really needed some Cruz time. I swear every move he made needed to be captured while we were hanging around the house last night. So I took some pics and now you get to look at them. Check out those baby blues!

Signature smile...

I'm so big!

Crazy hair!

Soaking Up The Gorgeous April Weather

Last Sunday was such a nice day. Little man and I got up early for a run around Lake Zorinsky. I decided to bring the camera along for some pics....the only thing is that I had a sleepy boy on my hands. As much as I would love to be a photographer in my next life, I realize I have a long, long, long way to go. :)  It was a gorgeous day...and made for a relaxing run and great views.

So serious

Ahh...

...cannot even wake up for my big photo debut.

Later that day, we headed to lunch with daddy before he left to work for a couple hours and then little man and I hit up Westroads for some shopping. {Again, my bags were full of goodies for Cruzer, not much for me...wah, wah.}  I have to say my favorite part of the trip was when we were walking through the main area of the mall and a group of people broke out into a flash mob dancing to "Tonight's Gonna Be a Good Night" for the new Joe's Crab Shack opening up...it was pretty cool to see.

After shopping, we went to Gene Leahy Park downtown and lounged around on the grass enjoying the gorgeous day right by the water.  Of course we had to take some pics.

Afterwards, we met up with the hubby, Nanu and Grammy for dinner at Nichola's Ristorante. It was a new place Nick & I noticed across from one of our favorite restaurants {Hiro 88}. It was so cute and quaint. We got a table on the patio where there were strung lights in the trees and had a great meal. Food was excellent even according to Nanu {who makes some mean Italian food}, conversation was great and the weather was perfect. It was a great night to end the weekend.
