Fall Faves

If you know me, you know that I'm not a lover of fall. Granted once we get into that season between my beloved summer and my least favorite cold, dreary winter months, I am generally okay with it.

I suppose there are some good things about it....

Like a nice pair of skinnies, slouchy boots and a comfy, casual cardigan.

And of all the sports my husband watches throughout the year, my favorite is football season and the tailgating and in-home football parties that go with. It also doesn't hurt that we have a "wives fantasy football league" either...

I also love burning some fall-flavored candles...at least it's what fall means to me circa my mom's kitchen growing up. One of my faves is B&BW Spice.

I have to say the one thing that can help me forget how much I will miss my warm summer months would have to be putting my plans together for my fall wardrobe. And this year is no different. I was scouring F21's website the other night after I put little man to bed and I have to tell you my wish list ended up being quite a bit north of $500. Hence the reason for a "wish list." I didn't think Nick would be too pleased if I made that purchase right there and then.

Check out my top finds...

I plan on owning most of these items (above) here in the near future. I mean, when you can get all of this under $200 that seems like quite the steal to me. And how incredibly great are all of these?

Hmmm...maybe I'm not too bummed for fall after all.

Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Trendy Tot Tuesday

So I'm digging this link up from the lovely Kelly over at Mrs. In Training. If you know anything about me, you know I L.O.V.E. dressing up my little guy. I was worried early on when I found out I was having a boy that he wouldn't be as fun to dress....but boy was I mistaken. All it takes is creativity, some layers and a little imagination.

So welcome to our edition of....

For my first time linking up, I just had to highlight the outfit that little man donned for his auntie's baby shower this past weekend.  I worked that morning so I left detailed instructions with his clothes laid out for the hubs. Wouldn't you know it he showed up not 100% put together. :) A girl can dream, right?  Once I got him fixed up, I just loved the look.

Check out our little stud...
Gray V-Neck - Baby Gap Outlet (here)
Pink Plaid Button Up - Old Navy (no longer available - similar here)
White Linen Pants - Old Navy (here)
Gray Tom's - Tom's through Zulily (here)

I have to say I'm loving this outfit and he rocked it...and can't wait to share some of his other gorgeous looks. :)

Show & Tell: Cold Weather Activities

Linking up with From Mrs to Mama for another Show & Tell. This week: Cold Weather Activities

1. Tell us what you like to do when it's cold outside.
I'm not a huge fan of cold weather - if I had the choice I'm so much more of a hot weather girl. BUT I live in Nebraska and it's hot as long as it is cold...and the weather can change at a moment's notice.  For example, it was 75 degrees Saturday and Sunday dropped to a very chilly 28 degrees with frost on the ground.

However, when it gets cold outside all I think about is that it's true football weather. And, while I missed our Hawkeye football trip in October, I have made it to two Husker games at Memorial Stadium.  There is nothing like watching a football game in person versus TV...which is all my hubby likes to do this time of year.

2. Tell us some of your favorite "winter" recipes.
Haha...this is funny.  I am not a cook, nor do I claim to be one. I suppose though I do have some favorite, relatively easy items to make that I crave when the weather starts changing - chili (found a recipe for Wendy's chili online...delish) and homemade chicken noodle soup.

3. Show a picture of something that makes you think of the cold.
Cold weather dressing....long cardigans, leggings and boots.

4. Tell us /show us some of your favorite accessories/outfits for the winter.
Refer to pic above. Tall boots are a MUST. Leggings are a staple. Tunics and long cardis are perfection. Throw on an over-sized scarf or long necklace and I'm good to go.

5. Tell us if you had the option of snow or no snow, what would you pick?
Can I choose one month of light snow and mild cold around the holidays?? That would be my ideal. Otherwise, no snow. Brrr...I hate being cold.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like...FALL!

It's time for another Link Up via one of my fave blogs "From Mrs. To Mama"...and this one is ALL about fall!

1. Tell us what you are looking forward to this fall?
Typically I've never been one of those people who can't wait for fall. I.Love.Summer.  And warm weather...and shorts, dresses and tank tops. BUT this year has been a bit different. It's been H-O-T. Really hot...even too hot for me. So now I'm jumping on the fall bandwagon with everyone else and I cannot wait for cooler weather, football, pumpkin patches and fall fashion!

2. Show us your fall style.
Easy enough. Layering, skinny jeans, tall boots, flowing tanks, long cardigans/jackets, dresses, tights....comfortable and fashionable.

My "I.Need.This." list for fall:  hunter green skinnies, denim shirt, cute flats, ankle-length skinnies...and oh so much more.

Blazer w/ shorts
Casual w/ denim jacket
Blazer & flowy shirt

Bright skinnies w/ neon

Long trench, short skirt, tights, boots

Mustard dress

And as you can see I love Rebel Attitude's style...basically everything she puts on is GORGEOUS and I want it. Can you say major girl crush??

3. Tell us your favorite things to do in the fall. If you have children, activities to do with the kids?
As much as I don't always admit it to my hubby, I love football in the fall! That doesn't mean I want to watch it every day, all day as he would prefer, but I love a good weekend in front of the TV or at a bar with friends, drinks and food, cheering on our team. I'm especially excited for our trip to Iowa City in October to cheer on the Hawkeyes!!

Now that I have a little guy, I'm especially giddy to take him to Vala's Pumpkin Patch and all of the other pumpkin patches around Omaha.

My fave holiday also falls in Fall...Halloween! I can't wait to decorate the house (I may have to go a bit more kid-friendly, rather than my normal scary this year), think up costumes, plan our Halloween party and take the little guy Trick-or-Treating (mainly just to show off his costume!)

4. Show us your favorite fall beverage.
Hmmm...not necessarily my favorite fall beverage...but my favorite ALL THE TIME beverage! A nice glass of Pinot Noir. Although, my glass is filled much, much higher when I pour it at home.

5. Tell us, how you will be participating in halloween this year. Plans? Costume ideas?
The hubby and I are still trying to decide if we are going to hold our annual Halloween party. Prior to last year (when I was VERY preggo & not interested in having a ton of people at the house imbibing while I looked on with envy), we had one every year and invited over friends and family. I LOVED the costumes and creativity and just hanging with the people I love the most. This year, it seems like a big hassle and a lot of work..and I don't have a ton of free time lately to plan and go crazy decorating. Only time will tell.

As far as costumes, I think I have little man's figured out...but it's a SURPRISE :) And I'm still working on our costumes. I like fun, creative costumes and have to say that the year before last we failed. The pressure is on!

KISS!

Roller Derby...with skates

So in closing...bring on Fall!
