Easter Style For Your Little Guy

We've literally just finished one holiday (like, literally, I'm still trying to get the green food coloring out from underneath my nails), and another is quickly upon us.

St Pat's was a lot of fun. We bought shamrock balloons, drank the heck out of some green milk and I suckered Cruz into a little photo shoot. I really just wanted to get one good shot for a St. Paddy's Day pic and then he goes and gives me this.

I mean, come on. Seriously this boy.

But now that St Pat's is over, I can get back to figuring out Easter plans.

I think we are planning to go to my parents again for church, dinner and an Easter egg hunt with the kiddos. The best part, Nick's mom and man friend D come over as well so we don't have to feel bad about splitting our time and Cruz gets to see 2/3rds of his grandparents in one place.

Did I tell you how munch I love that our families get along??

Obviously I've been thinking about little man's Easter outfit for the last few weeks and finally have started ordering some of the items. I was just turned onto Next, an amazing UK company that one of my besties who is originally from Ireland buys from for her little guy. I have an order coming and cannot wait to get it. Seriously I think every item on their website is amazing. (After posting this, I was told Next has a US site. How did I not know this? Check them out here!)

Mix some of those items with some of my other faves and you have these two outfits that I can't get enough of. And you know I had to incorporate a little yellow into his Easter outfit, didn't you??

What are your Easter plans? Hopefully they include lots of good food, even more mimosas and being with the ones you love!

Happy Easter + #BOYMOMS Series

What a gorgeous Easter we were blessed with yesterday! Loved spending time with our family, hitting up church, loads of good food & candy and Cruz got to see all THREE sets of grandparents...so you know he was a happy boy.

Speaking of boys, I'm also excited to be a part of the #boymoms series over at Chasin' Mason today. Elizabeth reached out to me to feature what I love about being a boy mom and we were happy to join in...because you all know I love being a boy mom to our crazy Cruz.

A few - of many - favorite moments with Cruz man were shared and it made me smile really big when I thought back on our life with him in it. Seriously amazing.

Here are a couple of my favorite Easter moments from yesterday.

Gator rides through the farm and fields with these goggle heads.

Getting fancy for church...and he was a good boy the entire service. That definitely warranted him a big ol' chocolate egg.

Egg hunting in the backyard. His haul was way more than any one kid should come home with.

To Toby, our farm dog, who just had a bit too much fun partying all weekend.

And these two cuties...who had too much egg hunting, mashed potatoes and tractor rides...couldn't keep their eyes open.

But head on over to Chasin' Mason to check out our favorite moments OF ALL TIME with our Cruzer Bruzer.  Man, just putting this together reminded me of all the good, not so good, dirty, messy, awesome times we've had with this little dude. I wouldn't trade it in for a thing.

And check out her weekly #boymoms series. Whether you are a boy mom yourself, mama to a little diva or not even a mama yet but love kiddos, you are bound to love the stories.

Chasin' Mason

Have an amazing week!

Easter 2013

Family pic after church
(Disregard my wayward hair - of course the hubs & Cruz look great & I'm a mess! And can I mention how model-like C looks with his serious face and oh-so-cute Easter outfit? Can I get an amen?)

Another holiday in the books, but one that was exponentially more fun than last year due to the fact that we now have a mobile toddler as opposed to a little nugget who couldn't even sit up around this time last year. I have to say I was very excited to get our egg hunt on...and after practicing with fake eggs around the house, so was little man. (As you can see in this pic below...)

Don't let this face fool you - that Easter basket was AWESOME (thanks to yours truly)

Of course the weather didn't cooperate, though it could've been worse, so we bundled him up for our outside adventure. Cruz had the yellow and orange eggs and I tell you he rocked it out. He had about 29 eggs hidden and made it until egg #16 before getting bored/tired/uninterested in walking around the backyard, picking up eggs and throwing them in the basket I was following him around with.

Man on a mission
When we got back inside, we changed the boys into their matching PJs. I have to tell you I made a pact to myself when I was early in my pregnancy that I would not dress my kid in matching clothes - matching his dad or matching a sibling. I didn't think it was my thing.  Well, I'm nothing if I don't admit when I'm wrong and booooy was I wrong. These matching PJs were about the most kick ass thing I've ever seen. I mean look at these two studs. AND they have Mickey Mouse playing baseball on them?   Well played, Aunt Morgan, well played. You've converted a disbeliever.

Seriously...who knew matching PJs would be so absolutely adorable??
I suppose the handsome little guys wearing them don't hurt either.

Hope you all had a very happy Easter!

Easter Prep

As per my usual, I've bah-hummed through yet another holiday. You will not walk into my house and see spring decor or loads of pastel in every nook and cranny. However, what I lack in decor, I make up for with holiday activities. I don't mind bringing in a bit of holiday cheer with the little man....and you better believe I'm nothing short of giddy to hide some eggs on Sunday and watch him squeal and laugh with delight as he finds them.

We had a rare Friday night with nothing going on, so I pegged that as the night we would whip through a couple of fun Easter-themed activities. The first and most obvious, of course, was getting our dye on with some hard boiled eggs. If you know anything about our family, you know we go through no less than 20 hard boiled eggs a week (not kidding), so I would be lying if I said I wasn't excited about adding some color to my otherwise ho-hum breakfast.

My friend, Heather, had this amazing idea to help make my egg dyeing with a toddler less painful...put the egg into a whisk and let him dunk and dye away! Pure genius!  Cruz loved using the different color water and seeing it transform the outside of one of his favorite foods.

I wish I could say the color remained in the bowl and on the egg only, but you all know that's not at all possible with a sixteen month old child. I was still finding food colored water on my cupboards this morning.

And in other Easter news, since I wasn't going to be spending the holiday with my side of the fam - where my sister or mom usually provide the fun Jell-O jiggle treats for the kiddies (and let's face it...me) to enjoy - I opted to be the one to take on the task. Easy, right? Make Jell-O, fill mold with Jell-O, refrigerate and enjoy! Yeah, not so much.

I'm not even going to show a picture of the little disasters I created. There were headless ducks, bunnies with no ears, flowers with no petals and butterflies without wings...it was a Jell-O murder scene. The only ones that were salvageable...the jiggly eggs. Fail.

Happy Easter everyone!

Little Mango's First Easter

Yesterday was little man's first Easter. We dressed him up in his Sunday's best and headed to grandma Carol's side of the family in Tilden. It was a pretty quick 2 1/2 hour drive {despite the Easter traffic} and Cruz slept the entire way.

We ate our way through the Easter feast, the guys played their normal card games {Pitch and Casino}, some Candyland with Emma and then a little Cranium, which was a pretty fun game. It was a great time catching up with that side of the family and an overall great day!

Easter outfit -
Looks like he should be at the track betting on the ponies!

Big smiles for daddy's funny faces over my shoulder

All tired out from the day's activites
Had to throw this one in there - Nick thinks he looks like a girl!
Happy Easter everyone!
