An Austin Wedding

We just got back from a pretty fantastic wedding weekend in Austin. The weather was gorgeous, I got to spend time not only with my little fam, but also my mama and, of course, some uninterrupted time with my girl Angie. I can't even begin to describe how beautiful the wedding was and how amazing she looked...so hopefully some of these pics will.

We flew out Thursday morning and I have to say it continues to get easier each time with this guy. It doesn't hurt that he doesn't need a stroller and all of that other junk that you have to bring along with babies.

When we got to Austin we immediately drove to Buda, TX where we were staying, unpacked and headed to the Wimberley hills for dinner, where Angie's family had a pretty kick ass rental home for their entire family. On the way, we had Siri giving us directions because it truly was up in the hills in the middle of no where and at one point, she told us "up ahead, park your vehicle and prepare to walk the remaining distance." Seriously. If it hadn't happened to us, I wouldn't believe it either. Fortunately we realized that we had taken a wrong turn and didn't, in fact, have to walk. Because I have seen the movie 'The Hills Have Eyes' and I wasn't about to do that.

Friday morning was nice and easy, thankfully my girl isn't a bridezilla and because Cruz had been up sick all night (ended up all weekend for that matter, but you won't be able to tell because this kid is a trooper I tell you. Sick all night, smiles and partying all day), so that was needed for sure. We ran some welcome gifts to the hotels for the wedding party, hit up Starbucks, picked up some champagne for the next day and then it was time to get ready for the rehearsal.

The Duchman Family Winery was absolutely beautiful - we had been here before as a part of our bachelorette party wine tour, but didn't have a chance to really check it out. Made for a nice background for these handsome guys and about a billion other pictures. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. And dinner, an Italian restaurant at the vineyard with plate after plate of delicious family-style food and bottle after bottle of delicious wine.  Who knew Texas knew wine?!

After dinner, I had a date with the bride and we headed to the house she rented for us to get ready in on Saturday and for her wedding night (bow chicka wow wow). At the house, we decided to take advantage of the hot tub to relax a bit. It was so nice catching up with her, just having her to myself for a bit. There is a reason this girl has been in my life since 1992.

Saturday was perfect...she had hired a team from Houston to come out for hair and make-up at the house, so we all got to spend the day getting to know each other, drinking champagne and getting fancy. Fake eyelashes were a must.

And Angie was gorgeous. She always is, but I couldn't believe how amazing she looked. Just see for yourself. =)

As for the harem of ladies I got to hang out with, you can see us to the right of the picture. All of us in a different hue of blue...Angie's favorite color.

And those arms. Seriously, no one should have arms that perfect. And what good is it having a best friend who is a personal trainer who lives miles and miles away? No good, that's what.

The kiddos were just too much. So adorable. And if you are in the market for the cutest little outfits for a little guy, check out this Etsy shop. I couldn't get over at how perfectly it fit Cruzer and was very well made!

And the wedding was just absolutely perfect. Angie was the most gorgeous thing, Austin was handsome as all get out and the weather couldn't have been better.  And Cruz was a dancing machine. Before the music started he told me, "mama, I'm going to dance with Montanna first and then when we get done I will come back and dance with you." Already second fiddle....

And just like that, we were back on a plane headed to Omaha. And now this boy is sick with a sinus infection, so we have that going for us. Fortunately he is still his sweet, little self.

Celebrate Good Times...Come On!

Last weekend, not only did we spend some time on the farm (here), but we had a wedding to attend. My cousin Steph got married and little man and I were able to join my fam for the festivities.

It was a gorgeous day, gorgeous wedding and we had tons of fun (mama maybe a bit too much since she had plenty of sober babysitters!) I got to spend time with my siblings I see very rarely it seems (Jen, Heather and Josh), but also with their little ones - Sophie & DeLaney. And don't forget my faves - mom & dad - they are a blast to party with.

Wedding of the Year

This post is a bit delayed...and I have no excuses as to why, I've just been a bit lazy the past couple of weeks :)

The hubby's brother, Marc and fiance Britt finally got hitched two weeks ago! It was a really special wedding, of course, because it was Nick's brother, but we also got to officially welcome Brittany to the family.

They lucked out and had a gorgeous weekend weather-wise for their big day and everything was perfect. Marc looked great and Brittany was gorgeous. Nick was the best man, I was a bridesmaid and our little guy was ringbearer - he was oh-so-cute in his tuxedo and Chuck Taylor's! Here's a recap of the weekend...I'm bummed I didn't get any pics of little man in his decked out wagon with the "Here Comes the Bride" chalkboard on the back, but I know once the prof pictures are back we will have plenty.

Rehearsal Day

On Friday, the men got up early to golf & drink, while the ladies had our own plans in mind. I got up early and brought little man to day care for the day (I figured that would be better than him being drug in and out of places all day long) and got my nails done. Then I met some of the bridesmaids and the mamas at Mimi's Cafe for brunch, follwed by pedis and cocktails at Legacy Nails.

Before we knew it, I had to speed home to get ready for the rehearsal, get the hubby cleaned up and then we picked up little man from day care - changing him in the back of the Jeep at the church!

After Rehearsal we headed to Charlie's on the Lake for dinner with family and close friends. It was a great night and we managed to wear Cruz out from being passed around from person to person - and headed home at a relatively reasonable time...for us at least.

Wedding Day

Saturday brought on the big day. While the hubby sat at home writing his best man speech, little man and I headed to the salon to get our hair done with the gals.

The wedding was beautiful and the reception a blast - we couldn't keep Cruzer off the dance floor!  My parents took little man home for us so we could enjoy the night. After the reception we all headed to Caddyshack and then back to the hotel. The day and night were perfect - I don't think Marc & Britt could've planned it any better.

The Day After

Early the next morning, we awaited Cruz to be dropped off at the hotel by my family and then headed to a brunch with family and the wedding party put on by Grandma Carol.  After brunch was the present opening, relaxing and recapping the weekend.

Three Amazing Years

On August 1, the hubby and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary (yes, this post is almost a month over late). I cannot believe it's already been three years, but yet it also feels like we've been together a lifetime...Well, we basically have... at least since October 11, 2000, the day we started dating. I absolutely love this man and couldn't imagine spending my life with anyone else.

I have to say that we aren't great with planning in advance a celebration around our anniversary (is that the woman's job? Fail.). For the most part, we've just tried to spend some time together when our anniversary comes around, however, that wasn't the case this year. I was actually in Vegas for work and flying back that night AND to top it off both the hubby and I were sick. What a terrible way to celebrate THREE years together.

So, what are we going to do to celebrate you may ask? We are going to try and find some time in the near future to get an overnight sitter for little man, get a hotel room, plan dinner and drinks and just spending some time together. And I can't wait. It's been too long since we've went out on a date...just the two of us...and I used to love our date nights.

Now the question is: what do I get him that falls under the 3rd anniversary material: leather? I can think of some things, but they aren't appropriate for this blog. :)
