Cruz's First Play Date

I have been waiting to meet this sweet little girl, Tory, for 15+ months now, so when I got the message that my college friend Heather was going to be in Omaha, Cruz and I had to make sure to visit them. I feel as though I know so much about this little girl from following their adorable family for the past couple of years, ever since I accidentally stumbled upon Heather's preggo blog while reading her normal blog. :)

On Tuesday, I took a half day at work - one, because we've been using and abusing our family and friends to help us watch Cruz ever since we pulled him from daycare and having yet found alternative care and, two, because I had been trying to find a day when nothing was going on and I could take a full day off from work to get some things done...but had to settle for a half day.

We met up at Heather's friend, Ashley's, house who just had an adorable baby boy, Easton. Cruz and Tory were a bit apprehensive about each other at first, but by the end of the play date they were having so much fun together. I can't believe how smart little Tory is and she is so mobile - walking circles (literally) around Cruz! It was great for little man to have some interaction with another kiddo around his age since he's been stuck with adults so much lately. 

My favorite part of the day was when Cruz was walking (using the railing to steady himself) and saw Tory just cruise past him and take a step down into the living room. Cruz decided he was going to follow her, took one step and face planted...he forgot that he can't walk unassisted just yet!

Heather, it was so great catching up with you (and venting a little about mommy things), but just getting to see you in the flesh and catch up on your life in Minneapolis. Thanks for letting us visit and I hope we are able to plan a couple more play dates in the future for our kiddos!
